I owe 10,000 but will dispute the 8,500 I cosigned for a car for my now ex. and the car got repo'd and my ex stuck me with the bill. When she gets her credit report, will it say she owes? Even if I settle for 4,000. Will she end up having to pay me back or will it just me taken off her credit report?? Can I sue her? Is it worth it? Now Im trying to buy a house and have bad credit? My fiancé has too little and no one will cosign for me. Do you have any advice?

I got many emails regarding debt settlement. Just to let you guys know that sometimes taking that rout is not good. If you owe lets say $20,000 and you settle it for $10,000 if you do not have the money to pay for it up front, its going to take you 2-3 years to pay it off. So your credit is going to be bad for another 10 years because collection accounts are from date of last activity. It is better to file BK and get it over with.
